2010 Bargaining Reports

This page was created to provide updates from your Bargaining Committee throughout Negotiations.  ANY and ALL updates will be posted here.  In addition to this page, your Bargaining Committee has designated a "phone tree", where they will contact Chief Stewards and Officers with updates that will then be passed on to the members in their respective areas.  If you hear anything during the negotiating process, please check this page to confirm.

Bargaining Update #8

Both Committee have made significant moves over the past 2 days and a more in-depth report will be posted by Monday evening.  Your Committee wants to thank you for your continued support and show of solidarity in your workplace.

Update #7

Over the last couple of days, the Company has continued to review the Union's proposals and no action has taken place as of this afternoon.  Stay tuned for further updates and remember your Union Committee is at the table for you.  Together, we will achieve a fair and equitable agreement.

More updates will follow as progress is made.  Continue showing your solidarity by wearing RED on Thursday and BLACK on Friday.

Bargaining Update #6

This report will cover what has been agreed to between the Company and your bargaining committee since the last report.  The following MOA's have been agreed upon:

Healthcare Committee
Mail Order Prescription Plan (MOPP)
Long-Term Disability (LTD) - which was increased from 12 to 18 months
Point of Service (POS - medical benefit description plan) - new to include Substance Abuse and Mental Health out of network benefits at 70%.  Currently there is NO out of network coverage for those items.  All medical insurance premiums will continue to be paid by the Company.

New MOA's that have been agreed upon:

Contractor Committee
Long-Term Care Plan

Your Committee believes bargaining is moving along well at this time and we will continue to keep all members updated of the progress made at the table.

Bargaining Update #5

Your Union Committee met with the Company this morning to request information on the Dental Plan, the Vision Plan and also a new Long-Term Care Plan.  Our website will be updated as often as needed to keep all members informed.

Bargaining Update #4

After 6 days, the Union and Company have agreed to renew most of the MOA's and LOU's that currently exist in our Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Both sides have presented additional information for their proposals which is still being reviewed.

As we make progress at the table, there will be further reports. 

Remember, the General Meeting is Friday night, beginning at 7:30 p.m.  We will be discussing the bargaining process up to that point. 

Bargaining Update #3

The Committees met today and discussions revolved around renewing MOA's and LOU's that are currently in our CBA.  Your Union Committee continues to request additional information from the Company to better understand proposals presented by the Company.

More updates will follow as progress is made at the Bargaining table.

Tomorrow is Thursday and your committee is requesting that all members wear their RED to show their support !!!

Bargaining Update #2

Both Committees met this morning to further explain proposals.  Your Union Committee spent the afternoon reviewing proposals.  This site will be updated again after the committees make some progress at the table.

Bargaining Update #1

 The Union and Company committees met this morning where opening statements were made and then proposals were exchanged.  There were very brief explanations of each proposal.  Your Union committee is currently reviewing proposals made by the Company.
