Electrical Workers Minority Caucus National Chapter awarded Josh Smith the National Scholarship Award for 2010.  Josh's mother, Melissa Braswell is a member of the Tampa, Florida Chapter.  Josh completed all of the requirements to receive a $500 check in January. Josh was not able to attend the Scholarship dinner, but his mother accepted the check on his behalf.

I just want to thank those who volunteered there time on Monday night even though it was cold and some still didn't feel well this evening at MM and those who came out to dinner after volunteering.  We had almost 50 volunteers from Verizon that came out tonight. Even though its was not planned we had Verizon Foundation’s Volunteer IncentiveProgram (VIP) working side-by-side with us we had Acom, Call Center Reps, even had Tim Smith, Ken Soule, Kwame and Regis Foster out there give of there time for others for such a great cause.   But a special thanks goes out to Chris, Sherry, Marilyn and Nicole (Marilyn) daughter for working on behalf of EWMC and IBEW 824.

Thanks,
Grace
