We were notified last week that several work groups would be allowed to take 4 hours off (paid) on Christmas Eve. Employees who are scheduled to work would be eligible. This has been an issue for the past several years and the Union's position is if 1 employee gets paid 4 hours for Not working Any Holiday, then Every employee should receive the same benefit. This could and should be a NEGOTIATED benefit for All employees.
The Union will file a grievance and also an Unfair Labor Practice and hopefully we can resolve this issue once and for all.
