Dear Brothers and sisters,
I hope that everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. We have just completed our 11 Membership Training class here at the hall and so far we have had approximately 400 members come through the class. We have discontinued the classes for the remainder of this year, however if you or someone you know would like to attend a class please contact a Rep at the Hall since we will be scheduling more during the beginning of 2010.
One of the main points of the class is to come together and bring SOLIDARITY back to the membership. This is a subject that has been brought up by many members in the different classes to bring us back together as a family like we once were. From these suggestions, Robert has put together a Solidarity Committee and they will begin meeting this month. If you are interested in participating or have any ideas please contact a Rep.
I hope that each and every member has a Safe and Happy Holiday season and try to remember that you and your brothers and sisters as well as the fore members of this Local Union are the reason that you enjoy the benefits that we have today. Please try to spread the word that you are a proud Union member of IBEW LU 824 this season, especially when you are talking about the benefits that we all enjoy.
Unfortunately, unemployment is at an all time high so keep that in mind this season, while doing your holiday shopping please try to buy Union-American made products as it will help keep jobs in America.
